The Old Town in Alcudia on the island of Majorca is an interesting place to spend a vacation whether as a honeymoon, romantic getaway, or for a family vacation. You can stay right in the Old Town at the four star luxury hotel Ca’n Simo or at the Petit Hotel Can Simo.
Alcudia’s Old Town is the oldest town in Majorca. Although founded by the Phoenicians and ruled by the Moors for many years, there are more historical remains from the time when the Romans occupied the area. The old walls contain 26 towers, and the bull ring there is more than 100 years old.
When you walk in Alcudia, you will be joined by many locals as well as visitors. You can take a guided walk that starts at the town hall. Strolling down the medieval narrow streets surprises you with the number of restaurants and cafes where you can partake of excellent local and international cuisine as well as an active night life. Also featured are town squares where it is a popular pastime to sit and watch the people going by while relaxing.
You can also bicycle or hike into the nearby beautiful mountains to see fields of wild flowers and quaint small villages. One area is a bird watchers paradise. You can go high seas fishing, sailing, water skiing, take a boat ride, go hunting, golfing, and a variety of other outdoor activities. Bicycle and boat rentals are easy to arrange.
The Ca’n Simo bed and breakfast is only a few kilometres from the Bay of Pollensa and the Bay of Alcudia. It is close to the city center, market, museums, and restaurants.
