Alcudia is a very popular destination and is one of the biggest resorts located on the northeast section of the island of Majorca, Spain. Alcudia was a fishing port that was developed into a major holiday resort. It is sheltered by the rocky Aucanada Peninsular which is covered by pines and thus, along with sunshine which is guaranteed during the summer season, makes the white sand beach (one of the longest in Majorca) and beautiful seas some of the warmest on Majorca.

Along with the bathing and the water sports of scuba diving and kite surfing, you can experience the diversity of also going on hikes, bicycling, going to S’Albufera (a conservation area that is a paradise for bird watchers), swimming in the hotel pools, soaking in the sun, watching the boats in the marina, playing on the squash and tennis courts, and more.

There is a walled Old Town (an ancient Moorish fort) to explore with Roman, Moorish, and Byzantine ancient historic sites including Spain’s smallest amphitheatre. You can go on a guided walking tour down its narrow streets and learn about the fascinating history.

You can take a ferry to another island, Menorca, or perhaps take a sightseeing trip to Barcelona on the Spanish mainland.

On Tuesdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. you can experience their extremely busy market where you can purchase good values and often inexpensive duty-free goods such as jewelry (including Agata, a shop which makes stones into not only jewelry but also into sculptures, wind chimes, and other unusual objects), leather goods, embroidered linens, and other souvenirs. You will also find a good variety of craft stores, gift shops, and boutiques.

At night many restaurants offer a variety of cuisine (mostly traditional Majorcan but also an excellent Thai restaurant, Sa Romana), the freshest fish dishes and fine Spanish wines, have live music playing, and do their tradition of lighting candles. Some of the preferred eating establishments are located beside the scenic harbour of the port. Other entertainment is offered at hotel clubs that are open to the public as well as a few discos.
