Alcudia is situated to the north west on the island of Majorca. It is approximately 55 kilometres from the capital Palma which makes it very accessible from the island’s main airport.

There are various methods of transport open to you when you travel from the airport to Alcudia, bus, private hire car and taxi. At the moment, travelling to Alcudia by train isn’t possible as the train doesn’t go this far out at the moment stopping approximately 10 kilometres short. However there are plans to extend it out in that direction in the future.

Bus / Coach
A transfer from the airport by coach is one of the easiest methods of reaching your destination, it is however a bit of a lengthy journey as the coaches mostly go via Puerto Pollensa and take about 1.5 hours to reach this point of call, and then a further 30 minutes to get to Alcudia. The Majorca Shuttle Bus costs 22euros per person return fare.

Taxi
Taxi’s are available from taxi ranks, but queuing may be involved, alternatively you can pre-book a taxi which will save the wait, but which may cost you a small additional booking fee. If you have small children it’s worth booking in advance as many taxi’s don’t carry child seats, so this way you can specify your need for one, otherwise you may find you have to hold the child on your lap. Taxi’s should all operate on a fixed price of around 80euros, although this fixed price may vary slightly according to how many people/suitcases etc. you have.

Hire Car
Hiring a car in Majorca is fairly easy to do and bookings can be made in advance of your holiday and the car collected at the airport. In terms of the cost of travelling by this method to your destination, it will depend on how long you hire the car for, and what sort of car you hire as to the cost. Taxi or hire car is the quickest method of travelling from the airport to Alcudia, although for those hiring a car it’s worth noting that many roads have been re-numbered in Majorca over recent years so make sure your map is up to date or you could find yourself rather confused. The route is fairly straight forward however.
