One of the main benefits and certainly a pleasure about holidays in Majorca, is that there are fabulous beaches along many parts of the island.

Many of the beaches are small attractive coves, where you can relax and sunbathe
with few other people around and there are other beaches which stretch for several miles of golden sand. Take your pick. It really depends on personal choice.

One part of Majorca which is particularly attractive to holidaymakers, are the resorts located along the northern coastline and these can be reached within about one hours travel time from Palma airport.

The fairly recent construction of the motorway has made a huge difference, because it has greatly shortened travel time and Hotels in the north can now be reached very quickly.

Two resorts with fabulous long beaches are Puerto Pollensa and Puerto Alcudia.
Puerto Pollensa is ideal for family holidays, because it has a wonderful beach, excellent restaurants and fairly low key entertainment, which finishes at around midnight.
As there are virtually no hilly streets in Puerto Pollensa, it is ideal for pushing a baby buggy or a wheelchair.

Puerto Alcudia has probably the longest beach on Majorca and if you like lots of Hotel entertainment and an energetic holiday where you will meet lots of people and be able to go to nightclubs and discos, then it should be ideal.

As Majorca can be reached quickly and fairly cheaply from most parts of Europe, it is not surprising that over the years, it has become a leader in providing sunny memorable holidays.
