A visit to the market is something you must do on your holiday. Weekly markets are held in several towns throughout Majorca on various days of the week. The market in Alcudia is held on Sunday and Tuesday mornings near the main square in the old town. You cannot fail to find it.
You simply need to follow the crowd and listen for the happy chatter of people buying and bartering for items. The stalls are normally open for business by about 10am and by around 1pm, the sellers are starting to close the stalls. The customers, due to a combination of the heat and the crowds, are ready for a well earned refeshment in one of the attractive bars and cafes located around the town.
There is a vast selection of good on sale in the market, including fruit, vegetables, tableclothes, watches, jewellery, toys and of course souvenires, ideal for taking home to relatives and neighbour
