Many people mistake the grass at the edge of parts of Alcudia beach for algae, but it is actually sea grass (poseidon grass) and is essential in stopping the erosion of the seabed. As well as this the oxygen it produces cleans the water and attracts sealife and the grass slows global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, so it’s not all bad even if it doesn’t look very nice.
