Alcudia is an area which offers a wide variety of watersports to people who are visiting. With it’s large bay, the area is ideal for people wanting to practice all manner of sports from wind surfing and scuba diving to snorkelling and sailing, and whether you are experienced at your chosen sport or not, you’ll find there is so much available here, you won’t be disappointed.
Charter boats can be hired where you can enjoy a perfect day out on the calm waters. Swim, snorkel, fish, dive from the boat, or just take a picnic lunch along and relax in the sunshine. There are also many trips which can be taken around the coastline to see the views back onto the island, as well as some to other islands locally. If you’re lucky you may also be able to see Dolphins from your boat as well, as they are fairly clearly visible around this area.
If you fancy something a bit more energetic, you could try your hand at water skiing. Experts are available to teach people of all ages, and you can fill your day with the excitement and fun of trying to stay upright. You could even try your hand at a jet ski if you want a real feeling of exhilaration as you whiz across the water.
If you fancy a bit of scuba diving there is lots to see in the Alcudia area. There are two specialised dive centres in Alcudia both of which provide professional training and certification as well as equipment rentals. Snorkelling is also very popular in this area because the water is very clear and there is a lot you can see here too, the area is an excellent place to see dolphins as well, and if you’re very lucky they may even approach you. The waters surrounding Alcudia contain some interesting marine life and with normally excellent visibility, the range of colours that can be seen in the marine flora and fauna is incredible.
